A wonderfully informative and visually appealing introduction
to Miri and what life is like here, this multimedia CD was produced
by Shell Malaysia and Outpost Miri. It contains sections on education,
health, travel, opportunities for kids & spouses as well as
vital information about housing, work, shopping and leisure activities

The Miri Information Guide aims to help newcomers deal with their
culture shock, find their way around and settle in by providing
useful information about shops and services.
It is not a comprehensive list of all shops and facilities in
Miri. Inclusion in the guide does not constitute a recommendation.
Copies of the guide are given to all Shell Employees at the time
of their arrival in Miri. Copies are also available in most Outpost
offices around the world.

This guide to Working In Miri is the third edition of the Spouse
Work-related opportunities In Miri Guide (SWIM), which was first
produced in 1998.
This guide has been written primarily for Shell spouses, but it
also contains much relevant information for any expatriated spouse
in Miri. We feel the information included will assist both men and
women in their search for working opportunities.
Copies of the guide are given to all Shell Employees at the time
of their arrival in Miri. Copies are also available in most Outpost
offices around the world.

The Hornbill Herald is a bi-monthly news bulletin produced by volunteers at Outpost Miri. It gives details on forthcoming events, help required, items
wanted or for sale, as well as any topics which may be of interest
to others. It is posted on the bulletin boards around Piasau Camp.

LINK is a magazine is a glossy, which caters primarily to the expatriate
community in SSB. It is produced by the Publication Group of Outpost
Miri and Outpost Miri and SSB currently finance the publication
of two issues a year.
Since sporting and other events in Miri are catered for in the
Beachcomber (the monthly bulletin of the Piasau Boat Club) and bi-monthly
Hornbill Herald, LINK has evolved in recent times to focus on travel
destinations in and around Sarawak as well as Sarawak's culture
and history.
Link Magazine is distributed to Shell expat families, expats involved
with Outpost Miri and Outpost The Hague. Current issues of LINK
Magazine are available upon request to Outpost offices around the
world. Current and back copies of LINK Magazine are available for
perusal at the Outpost Miri Office library during office hours.

advice for Shell staff coming to stay in Miri. It should answer
