Hornbill House has several facilities which include:

- the Outpost Miri office and meeting room with:
- Information about Shell locations and books about expatriate
living, Sarawak and Borneo.
- a 'holiday corner' with brochures, ideas and tips on travelling
in Borneo and the Asia Pacific region.
- Information about distance learning.
- A career and development section.
- For Shell families, access to the Shell Wide Web and a
collection of Notes for Guidance.
- a library with a large collection of English and Dutch
language books ranging from Shakespeare to Grisham, and a small
selection of German and French books,
- a large but cozy communal room/meeting place and a dedicated
classroom complete with blackboard and TV/video,
- a fully equipped kitchen,
- a study room with an Internet corner, for those continuing
their education and for new arrivals who do not have access to
a home computer yet,
- arts & craft rooms,
- dedicated/equipped rooms for baby and toddlers groups,
complete with nappy changing facilities and an outdoor play area..
Hornbill House also organizes and hosts social events and other
activities. An updated list of current activities is published every
two weeks in the Hornbill Herald. |
